MRAM offers a new way to implement non-volatile memory. It offers much higher speed than flash memory, simple write cycles, full byte-addressability, low latency, high endurance, and low power consumption. It is beginning to gain acceptance in servers, SSDs, flash arrays, adapters, personal computers, and storage appliances. Recent market research points to a huge total market of $4.8 billion by 2025. Furthermore, applications outside enterprise storage and personal computers are just beginning to appear, and this approach to nonvolatile memory should attract wide interest in high-performance computing, mobile applications, embedded applications, industrial applications, mil-aero applications, automotive applications, and other areas.
